Rocha Brava is about a 50 minute drive to the west from Faro airport; click here for route to take from Faro Airport. Once you get to the roundabout on page four, follow the signs for Rocha Brava. You can hire a car but I would say a car is not essential. An air conditioned (8)people carrier can be arranged to and from the airport for about 150 Euros return .
It is 3500m(2.2miles) from Carvoeiro town. 800m(875yds) from the nearest Centiennes beach with its own beach restaurant.
There are also many other beaches close by all within a reasonable walking distance. There is a cafe-bar-coffee shop with internet access, mini supermarket and restaurant within Rocha Brava and many in the surrounding areas, all within short, pleasant walking distances
Rocha Brava has swimming pools, a gym, tennis courts, childrens play area and a main poolside bar.
Carvoeiro Town is about a 40 minute downhill walk but you can catch a taxi for around five euros or there is a local bus that stops outside.
Alternatively take the cliff top walk into town for spectacular scenery and some extremely good watering holes along the way! The view from the Hotel Tivoli Almansor bar along the way, is well recommended at night or during the day!! Good evening entertainment there as well.
Walking back to Rocha Brava from the town is a bit hilly so you may want to take the local bus or catch a taxi from the taxi rank.
There is an excellent local bus service which stops right outside the complex and goes into Portimao via Carvoeiro Town. Fares are incredibly low!
Other places to visit include Portimao, Silves and Monchique. For the more adventurous you can go to Lagos and Sagres to see the beauty of these famous old cities full of history.
